Google is re-energizing its Play Shop, including the launch of brand-new player files, community and AI functions, most notably the Gemini-driven “play assistant”.
The Google Play team demonstrated new features to some media last week in an interview, while responding to increasing pressure on their 30 per cent commission for commissioning on applied purchases. The Google Play team spokesman said: “The strongest feedback I heard from game developers was that 30 per cent of the applications were overpaid. Google Plya ‘ s service fees are the lowest of the main application stores, with 99 per cent of developers paying only 15 per cent or less. This is a reasonable model — we only earn income when the developers profit, so our success is tied to the developers, which encourages us to continue to improve the platform for the developers.” When asked if developers could opt out of the new features, most head game developers are extremely concerned about the product page conversion rate, and these new features may have an impact. Google indicates that this is only because of the function and suggests that developers view the details through Google Play console.
The modified Google Play Shop enhances the efficiency of applications through a new personalized “recommended” tab page, which learns user interest and provides recommended content, discount information, in-play and community videos from YouTube. It was also equipped with an AI-driven search and enriched the shop page details. In some major markets, users can ask questions about applications or games directly from the product page via Gemini. GooglePlay Games’ new version of the player’s file supports public sharing, synchronizing across the PC with the moving end, including continuous logs of landings, achievements and AI generation. Users can also “care” for like-minded friends and other players. The shop referral system has also been strengthened, and players can now “pay attention” to their favorite type of game. The products page will show the games ‘ activities, and some of the works will also have community forums where players can ask questions from developers. Play Game Leagues, which was launched at the same time, will be the first to test water in the “Train Run” and then expand to other popular games. The Gemini-driven “play assistant” feature was also highlighted, and players could access game skills through dialogue with AI assistant. The Game Tip function will also generate text tips for some games. EA and Netmarble have worked with Google to launch these features in games such as FC Mobile, Star Wars: The Milky Way Heroes, I Upgrade Alone.
