The sales of nearly a decade-old strategic cardman, Tribal Conflict: The Royal War, achieved the highest monthly player expenditure ever last month, while reaping the best monthly download in over three years. It turns out that if you give the players a fresh sense of freshness, they’ll be in a big pile of krypton.

According to the Appfigures report, the global monthly expenditure by the player, Tribal Conflict: Royal War, on App Store and Google Play in July amounted to $82.7 million, an alarming 251 per cent increase compared to July 2024. This achievement was compounded by a significant crushing of $51.4 million in monthly expenditures in June (the record was the best month since 2021). This is due to the launching of a new quarterly model, the “Cyclops”, which has enhanced players’ participation and willingness to pay through innovative game mechanisms such as card consolidation and regional optimization.
The charlatan model has completely changed the game of the Royal War by abandoning the existing real-time split-up mechanism and moving to a round-up, four-person chess model. Players buy, consolidate and deploy troops from shared card pools and then leave them to fight automatically. The military characteristics, synergies and seasonal adjustments are used to fuel the enthusiasm of old players and to attract curious new players.

It is worth noting that the Royal War also made significant progress in its July downloads, with 5.2 million installation increases of 39 per cent compared to June and the highest monthly download since April 2022 (5.6 million). This growth is not easy for a 2016 game. By July of this year, the cumulative global downloads of the Royal War had exceeded 662 million, with United States users contributing about 84 million.
Supercell’s success was no accident. As early as April this year, the game introduced a major change in the progress system — the removal of timer restrictions, the extension of incentives and the reduction of the “gravity” mandate of the Super Pass. Player participation has begun to climb, paving the way for the charades to bring the game into the new field, and the upgrade of cards, the purchase of tokens and the overall increase in the season’s skin-bound spending has turned a fine update into a record month.

With the Quakers being positioned as a seasonal model, Supercell now has both a successful template and a group of players willing to pay for it, and it is hoped that this explosive growth will be repeated in the future.
